Twins back to losing
After picking up a 4-0 win over the Blue Jays on Wednesday, the Twins went back to losing on Thursday in a 6-5 loss to the White Sox. Minnesota is now 10-17 overall with a 3-10 record on the road. Minnesota is putting up 4.11 runs per game this season while allowing 5.44 per contest.
Jose Berrios gets the start for the Twins tonight. He has been very hot-and-cold, as he has three starts where he didn’t allow a run and three where he gave up 4 or 5 runs. Berrios is 2-3 on the year with a 3.63 ERA and 0.92 WHIP. He has recorded 36 strikeouts with six walks.
White Sox finding momentum?
Chicago put an end to its four-game losing streak on Thursday with a 6-5 victory over the Twins. They have actually gone 4-4 over their last eight games. Chicago is now 9-20 overall with a 3-10 record at home. The Sox average just 3.93 runs per game this season while allowing 5.41 per game.
Carson Fulmer gets the start for the White Sox tonight. He is 2-1 through five starts and six appearances in 2018. Fulmer has a 4.32 ERA with a 1.48 WHIP. Over 25 innings of work, Fulmer has 13 walks and 18 strikeouts.
MLB Betting Trends
Minnesota
The Twins have lost five straight road games to a right-handed starter and they are 2-11 in Berrios’ last 13 road starts.
Chicago
Chicago has won five of Fulmer’s last seven starts, but they are just 2-5 in their last 7 Friday games and 5-14 in their last 19 games against a right-handed starter.
Prediction:
It’s hard to expect either team to win tonight since both are accustomed to losing so much. I will go with the Twins tonight, though, as Berrios already owns a 7-inning scoreless effort against the White Sox this year. He should be able to silence the Sox bats again tonight, as Chicago hasn’t shown any ability to hit consistently.
The Pick: Minnesota Twins -165
