Twins fall at home
The Twins suffered an 8-5 loss at home to the White Sox on Monday night and now head to Chicago looking to bounce back. Minnesota is now 59-65 overall and 21-39 on the road. The Twins are scoring 4.51 runs per game this year while allowing 4.70 per contest.
Jose Berrios gets the start for the Twins this evening. He has started 25 games this year and has an 11-8 record with a 3.75 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP. Berrios has 157 strikeouts and 44 walks over 153.2 innings of work this year.
White Sox rolling along
The White Sox earned their fifth win in six games on Monday and they have scored 36 runs in the five games. Chicago is now 47-77 overall and 24-39 at home. The White Sox are putting up 4.14 runs per game this year while allowing 5.35 per contest.
Michael Kopech gets the start for the White Sox this evening. He is making his MLB debut tonight. Kopech was a first-round pick by the Red Sox in the 2014 MLB Draft. He has a 3.70 ERA over seven starts in AAA ball this season.
MLB Betting Trends
Minnesota
The Twins have won five of their last seven following a loss and they have won Berrios’ last four starts against a team with a losing record.
Chicago
The White Sox are just 4-9 in their last 13 home games and 8-24 in their last 32 Tuesday games.
Prediction:
Like the Twins on Monday, I see the Sox struggling with a rookie on the mound today. Kopech may have some success, but isn’t likely to pitch deep into the game. I don’t love the Chicago bullpen holding Minnesota down. Berrios hasn’t been at his best in recent starts, but is 3-0 against the Sox this year with a 2.45 ERA. I expect him to lead Minnesota to the victory.
The Pick: Minnesota Twins -115
