Thursday MLB Opening Day Odds
(The Spread) – The defending World Series champion San Francisco Giants are one of 12 teams slated to begin their season Thursday on Opening Day for Major League Baseball.
The Giants begin their season play at its heated rival in the Los Angeles Dodgers. The contest will air live on ESPN at 8:00PM EST. San Francisco won the NL West last season with a 92-70 record on its way to the World Series title, while the Dodgers went 80-82 to finish fourth in the division.
Oddsmakers and online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have put a moneyline at -105 for both San Francisco and Los Angeles. The over-under is set at 6.5.
Two-time Cy Young Award winner Tim Lincecum will tote the rubber for the Giants, while left-handed ace Clayton Kershaw gets the call for the Dodgers.

Starting off the day, weather permitting, is a 1:00PM EST contest on ESPN between the host New York Yankees and the Detroit Tigers. The Yankeers are -145 favorites and the over-under is set at 8. CC Sabathia gets the ball for New York and Justin Verlander will throw for Detroit.
Atlanta is at Washington for a 1:00PM EST start. The Braves are -140 favorites, while the over-under is 8.5. Cincinatti hosts Milwaukee at 2:00PM EST. The Reds are listed as a -114 favorite and the over-under is set at 8. St. Louis is home to face San Diego at 3:00PM EST. The Cardinals are -200 favorites, while the over-under is at 7.
The Kansas City Royals host the Los Angeles Angels at 4:00PM. Los Angeles is a -140 favorite and the over-under is currently at 8.5.
