Tuesday MLB Opening Odds
(The Spread) – Oddsmakers have released the odds for Tuesday’s action on the diamond, including Game 2 between the Phillies and Cardinals.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the Cardinals –140 on the money line against the visiting Phillies, who are +130 on the ML. The over/under for this game has opened at 7 runs.
The Cardinals beat the Phillies 3-1 behind Jake Westbrook’s gem on Monday. He pitched 7 innings of one-run ball, allowing four hits and striking out one. Ryan Theriot went 2-for-2 with two walks, while Nick Punto finished with two hits and a RBI. On Tuesday, the Cardinals will send Jaime Garcia (5-0, 1.89 ERA, 48 Ks) to the mound against Roy Oswalt (3-1, 3.33 ERA, 21 Ks).
According to latest MLB trends, the Cardinals are just 1-4 in their last five games overall, but are 5-1 in Garcia’s last six home starts. Meanwhile, the Phillies are 15-4 in Oswalt’s last 19 starts and 6-2 in his last eight road outings.
