Philadelphia has won just four of its last 10 games after Thursday’s 7-1 home defeat versus Colorado, but still is in first place in the NL East with a 26-17 record. Texas has won only five of its last 10 contests, yet is in first place in the AL West at 23-21.
Phillies ace Roy Halladay will start for his side and comes in with a 5-3 record along with a 2.21 earned-run average. C.J. Wilson gets the start for the Rangers and he is 4-3 with a 3.37 ERA.
According to the latest MLB trends, Wilson has a 0-0 record and a 4.50 ERA in two career relief appearances versus the Phillies. Halladay is 7-7 with a 5.36 ERA in 20 appearances (19 starts) against the Rangers during his career.
Elsewhere in interleague action, the Chicago Cubs make their first trip to Fenway Park in 93 years to face the Boston Red Sox. Boston is a -240 favorite and the over-under is 8.5. Game time is set for 7:10PM EST. The Cincinnati Reds are a slim -110 favorite at 7:10PM EST against the Cleveland Indians. The over-under is 8.5.
Out west, the San Francisco Giants host the Oakland Athletics at 10:20PM EST in a Bay area clash. The Athletics are a -113 favorite and the over-under is set at 6.5.
