Saturday MLB Opening Odds
(The Spread) – Will the Phillies stay hot? Can the Indians shake out of their recent funk? Will the Mariners ever win again?
Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog have released the opening odds for Saturday’s MLB action, including Game 2 between the Mariners and Red Sox at 7:10PM ET tonight. With Josh Beckett on the hill, the BoSox have been made massive –270 money line favorites over the Mariners, who are +251 and have lost 13 straight games.
Another team struggling right now is the Cleveland Indians, who are 1.5 games behind the Tigers in the AL Central after losing three in a row. They’ll host the White Sox again on Saturday at 7:05PM ET, and find themselves –106 money line favorites. But according to recent MLB trends, the White Sox are 6-1 in their last seven road games against Cleveland and 6-1 overall in their last seven meetings with the Tribe.
In the National League, the Phillies will look to win their fourth straight game when they host the Padres at 4:10PM ET. Philadelphia is –140 money line favorites over San Diego, which is +132 on the ML. The Padres are 16-39 in their last 55 meetings with the Phillies, while the under is 12-3-1 in the last 16 games between these two teams.
Also in the NL, the Reds (-120) will host the Braves (+113) at 4:10PM ET. The under is 4-1 in the last five meetings between these two teams in Cincinnati and 4-1 in the last five meetings overall. The Braves are also just 4-11 in their last 15 road games against the ‘Natti.
