Staying in the NL Central, the Reds have won two straight and will look to sweep the defending World Series champion Giants when the two teams clash in Cincinnati at 1:10PM ET. Recent MLB trends show that the Giants are just 2-5 in their last seven games against the Reds and 0-4 in their last four road games versus the ‘Natti.
Switching leagues, the Indians made a big move on Saturday when they acquired ace Ubaldo Jimenez in exchange for a couple of top prospects. The Tribe will host Kansas City today at 1:05PM ET and is –150 money line favorites. The Royals are just 1-6 in their last seven games against the Indians and just 1-7 in their last eight road games versus Cleveland.
Also in the AL, there figures to be a great pitching duel today in Detroit. The Angels (+115) will send Jered Weaver to the hill against the Tigers’ (-125) Justin Verlander at 1:05PM ET. The under is 4-0-1 in Verlander’s last five home starts against the Angels and 5-1 in Weaver’s last six overall starts against the Tigers.
