Sunday MLB Opening Odds
(The Spread) – The Braves and Red Sox will continue to try and give away their respective leads in the Wild Card standings when baseball resumes on Sunday.
Thanks to their pathetic effort against the Yankees on Saturday, the Red Sox are now only a game and a half ahead of the Rays in the American League Wild Card Standings. Boston has a double-header to look forward to on Sunday against the Bombers, while the Rays will once again host the Toronto Blue Jays.
The odds aren’t out for either of the Red Sox-Yankees games, but the Rays are –150 money line favorites against the Blue Jays, who are +140 on the ML. According to latest MLB trends, the Blue Jays are 2-5 in their last seven games versus the Rays and 9-27 in their last 36 road games against Tampa Bay.
In the National League, all the Braves have to do is beat the Nationals, which proved difficult on Saturday. Of course, the Cardinals tried to lose themselves on Saturday, but thankfully for them Carlos Marmol of the Cubs wanted to lose just a tad more and gave St. Louis a 2-1 victory. The Braves will face the Nationals again on Sunday while the Cards host the Cubs at 2:15PM ET.
Oddsmakers have installed the Braves as –115 money line favorites versus the Nationals, who are +105 on the ML. The Cardinals, meanwhile, are –190 money line favorites against the Cubs, who are +180 on the ML. For a complete list of opening odds on Sunday’s MLB games, see below.
