Wednesday MLB Opening Odds
(The Spread) – The Yankees look to extend their current winning streak while the Mariners look to end their epic funk when MLB heads into Wednesday.
CC Sabathia was nearly perfect in the Yankees’ 4-1 victory over the Mariners on Tuesday and now New York finds itself as –145 money line favorites over the hapless M’s on Wednesday. Seattle has opened as a +136 money line underdog despite the fact that ace Felix Hernandez will be on the hill. The Mariners’ odds are a direct reflection on their current 17-game losing streak.
After beating the White Sox 5-4 on Tuesday, the Tigers head into Wednesday night listed as a +113 money line underdog. Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog currently list Chicago as a –120 money line favorite, while the over/under total for this game has opened at 8.5 runs.
Due to Tim Lincecum’s scratched start on Tuesday, the odds have yet to be released for Game 2 between the Giants and Phillies. Cole Hamels will take the hill for the Phillies, who are now 16-7 in their last 23 games against the Giants in Philadelphia.
The Diamondbacks are gaining ground on the Giants in the NL West and could put together a three-game winning streak if they can beat the Padres again on Wednesday. But according to latest MLB trends, Arizona is just 3-11 in its last 14 road games against San Diego.
