Wednesday’s Opening MLB Odds
(The Spread) – The Tigers put their five-game winning streak on the line when MLB resumes on Wednesday.
Detroit will be in search of its sixth straight win when it takes on the Indians at 12:05PM ET today. Justin Verlander will take the hill for the Tigers, who are –155 on the money line versus Cleveland (+145). The Tigers are 5-0 in their last five games versus the Indians and 9-2 in Verlander’s last 11 starts against Cleveland.
Staying in the AL Central, the White Sox need to keep winning if they have any hopes of catching the Tigers in the division. Chicago (-120) has won three in a row and will take on lowly Minnesota (+110) again tonight at 8:10PM ET. The White Sox are 5-0 in their last five games versus Minnesota and 7-1 in their last eight games against the Twins.
In the National League, the Phillies will look to sweep the Braves when the two teams clash at 7:05PM ET. The Phillies are –140 versus the Braves in tonight’s game, while Atlanta is +130 on the ML. According to latest MLB trends, the Braves are 3-8 in their last 11 road games versus Philadelphia and 0-5 in Brandon Beachy’s last five starts against the Phils.
Also in the NL, the Cardinals will once again host the Brewers at 8:15PM ET. St. Louis is –130 on the money line versus Milwaukee, which is +120 on the ML. The Cardinals are just 1-4 in Chris Carpenter’s last five starts versus the Brewers.
