Teams to Bet Now To Win World Series
Pitchers and catchers have reported to big league camps and before long, the 2023 MLB regular season will begin. Here are three teams we like to win the World Series.
TEAM 1: New York Yankees +800
The Yankees haven’t won the World Series since 2009 but they remain a legitimate contender year in and year out. The loss of Frankie Montas (shoulder surgery) hurts, but the addition of free agent Carlos Rodon gives the Bronx Bombers and excellent one-two punch alongside ace Gerrit Cole. Nestor Cortes is also coming off a career year and the Yankees might have the best bullpen in all of MLB. Did I mention Aaron Judge, Anthony Rizzo and Giancarlo Stanton? Yes, the offense largely underachieved outside of Judge last year, but it’s still one of the more formidable lineups in baseball.
TEAM 2: Atlanta Braves +800
If you don’t like the Yankees, you can get the Braves at the same price and they actually won the whole stinkin’ thing two years ago. I love what Atlanta did this offseason in acquiring Sean Murphy from the A’s. He’s a better overall player than Willson Contreras, who signed a multi-year deal with the Cardinals as a free agent. He’ll pair perfectly with a starting rotation that has an outstanding duo at the top in Max Fried and Spencer Strider, as well as a solid veteran in Charlie Morton. Much like the Yankees, the Braves have an outstanding lineup as well – a lineup that will get Ozzie Albies back after the second baseman missed most of last season due to injury.
TEAM 3: Toronto Blue Jays +1500
Outside of the Astros and Padres, the Blue Jays might have the best lineup in the league. George Springer, Bo Bichette, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Alejando Kirk and Matt Chapman is hard to beat 1-5. Throw in a couple of nice offseason additions in Daulton Varsho, Brandon Belt and Kevin Kiermaier and again, this is one of the better lineups in baseball. They also have an intriguing rotation, albeit one that consists of a few starters coming off rough seasons. Alek Manoah, Kevin Gausman and free-agent addition Chris Bassitt are solid one through three. Jose Berrios (5.23 ERA), Yusei Kikuchi (5.19 ERA) and Hyun Jin Ryu (5.67 ERA) is where it gets shaky, but at least all three have had success prior to last season; it’s not like they’re a bunch of unknowns.
