Saturday MLB Prediction
(The Spread) – The Braves will look to make it three in a row overall and two in a row over their NL East rivals when they visit the Mets at 7:10PM ET.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog have made the visiting Braves –118 money line favorites over the Mets, who are +111 on the ML for tonight’s game. The over/under total for this contest is currently sitting at 7 runs.
The red-hot Jair Jurrjens will take the hill for the Braves tonight. He’s 7-1 on the year with a ridiculous 1.51 ERA over 65.2 innings of work. He’s won his last two decisions, including a 2-1 affair against the Reds on May 29 in which he allowed just one run on six hits over 8 innings. The Mets will counter with Dillon Gee, who is a perfect 5-0 on the year with a 3.83 ERA over 47 innings of work.
Of the 13,000-plus wagers on tonight’s game, 82% of MLB public bettors favor the Braves –118 over the Mets. That’s not surprising given how Atlanta has won two-straight games and will throw Jurrjens.
MLB Free Pick: Take the Braves. Accoridng to latest MLB trends, Atlanta is 4-0 in its last four games in New York and 6-1 in Jurrjens’ last seven starts versus the Mets. They’re also 22-8 in their last 30 games overall against New York, while the Mets are 1-4 in their last five Saturday games. I know Gee is perfect on the year but he also received plenty of run support in three of those five games and with Jurrjens on the hill for Atlanta, I don’t think the Mets will cross the plate much tonight.
SATURDAY MLB FREE PICK: ATLANTA BRAVES –118
