Friday MLB Opening Betting Odds
(The Spread) – The Angels and Mets heat up while the Reds are in a funk. Check out the opening odds and totals for Friday’s MLB action.
Although they traded one of their biggest bats on Wednesday, the Mets have won four in a row and will look to make it five-straight when they travel to Washington on Friday. The Mets are –115 money line favorites against the Nats, who are +108 on the ML. According to latest MLB trends, the Mets are 4-1 in their last five road games against the Nationals and 4-1 in their last five games overall against Washington.
The Halos have climbed within two games of the first-place Rangers over these last couple of days and will look to win their fourth-straight when they take on the Tigers at 7:05PM ET tonight. Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog have made L.A. a +132 money line underdog against Detroit, which is –140 on the ML.
On the other side of the coin, the Cincinnati Reds are struggling right now and are in the midst of a four-game losing streak. They currently trail the Brewers by 6.5 games in the NL Central and have a tough task tonight when they open a three-game series with the Giants. The Reds (-110) will send Dontrelle Willis to the hill against Ryan Vogelsong, who has been fantastic this year for the Giants (+104).
One of the more intriguing games tonight is the battle between the surprising Pirates and the first-place Phillies. Pittsburgh is +251 on the money line for tonight’s game, while Philadelphia is –270 because Roy Halladay will take the hill. The Pirates are just 8-21 in their lat 29 road games against the Phillies but are 6-2 in their last eight meetings with Philly overall.
