Saturday MLB Opening Odds
(The Spread) – The opening odds for Saturday’s MLB action are out, including Game 2 between the Yankees and Mets at Citi Field.
After downing the Mets 5-1 on Friday night, the Yankees opened as -125 money line favorites on Saturday as they try for their seventh-straight win. According to latest MLB trends, the Bronx Bombers are 5-1 in their last six games against the Mets and 8-3 in their last 11 meetings against their in-state rivals on the road.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog have made Roy Halladay and the Phillies –145 money line favorites over the Blue Jays, who are +135 on the ML. Philadelphia is 5-1 in its last six games against the Blue Jays in Toronto and 5-1 in its last six games overall.
After barely holding on in the ninth inning on Friday, the Giants will go for two straight wins over the Tigers when the two teams square off in Detroit at 7:05PM ET. The visiting Giants are +150 on the ML, while Detroit is –160 money line favorites.
The Cardinals will go for five straight when they take on the Rays at 7:10PM ET. St. Louis is 4-0 in its last four games against the Rays in Tampa Bay and 6-1 in its last seven meetings with the Rays overall.
The Braves will also go for four straight when they host the Orioles at 7:10PM ET. Atlanta is –170 money line favorites over Baltimore, which is +160 on the ML. The Orioles are just 3-9 in their last 12 meetings against the Braves and 1-6 in their last seven trips to Atlanta.
