Monday MLB Free Pick
(The Spread) – The Nationals look to round out their series with the Giants with another victory when the teams square off at 7:05PM ET.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the visiting Giants –104 on the money line against the Nationals, who are –102 on the ML. The over/under total for tonight’s game is currently 7.5 runs.
The Nationals can wrap up their four-game series with the Giants by taking three of four from the defending champs. They’ve already beaten Tim Lincecum and Matt Cain, so tonight’s game against a struggling Madison Bumgarner should seem like a walk in the park.
The young San Francisco lefty is still looking for his first win in 2011. He’s 0-4 with a 6.17 ERA, although he did pitch well in his last start despite picking up the loss. Bumgarner pitched six innings of one-run ball but the Giants’ pathetic offense managed zero runs.
MLB Free Pick: The Giants’ offense has been putrid for over a week now and the only guy that was hitting, Pablo Sandoval, is out for the next 4-6 weeks due to a wrist injury. Unless guys like Buster Posey and Aubrey Huff step up, the Giants could dig themselves a deep hole in the NL West over the next month or so. The good news is that Bumgarner seems to be slowly turning things around, although now isn’t the time to back the defending champs. According to latest MLB trends, the Giants are 0-5 in Bumgarner’s last five starts and 0-4 in his last four starts when they’re the favorite. Meanwhile, the Nationals are 6-1 in their last seven games as a home underdog and should be able to send the Giants limping out of town tonight.
MONDAY MLB FREE PICK: WASHINGTON NATIONALS –102
