Saturday MLB Free Pick
(The Spread) – The MLB-best Cleveland Indians will go for a second straight win Saturday at home over their in-state rivals in the Cincinnati Reds.
Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog.com have made the visiting Indians a -107 favorite in the game, while the Reds are a small -103 underdog. The over/under total for this game is currently set at 8 runs and the start time is 4:05PM EST.
The Indians, 27-15 thus far this season, fell behind 4-0 to the Reds Friday night before rallying for a 5-4 victory to maintain a six-game lead in the AL Central. Cincinnati drops to 25-20 with the loss, a half-game back of St. Louis in the NL Central.
Josh Tomlin (5-1, 2.56 ERA) gets the start for Cleveland in this one, while Cincinnati counters with Homer Bailey (3-0, 1.89 ERA).
MLB Free Pick: Tomlin has been unbelievably consistent for the Indians this season and has not allowed over three runs in any start. Bailey has also been good, but due to his past struggles I find it difficult to trust him. Tomlin has never faced the Reds according to the latest trends, while Bailey is 2-0 with a 7.56 ERA in four career starts for the Indians. Cleveland’s offense, despite dealing with various injuries to Grady Sizemore and Travis Hafner, has continued to plug along. I like the Tribe here at -107.
SATURDAY MLB FREE PICK: CLEVELAND INDIANS -107
