Tuesday MLB Free Pick
(The Spread) – After they were swept by the Braves on a brief homestand, the Giants will once again hit the road when they travel to Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the visiting Giants –123 on the money line against the Pirates, who are +116 on the ML. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:05PM ET tonight.
The Giants are coming off a frustrating homestand, one in which they were swept in three games by the Braves. Madison Bumgarner’s struggles continued on Friday, while Tim Lincecum took the loss on Saturday. On Sunday, the Giants’ bullpen gave up seven runs in an embarrassing effort, as San Fran lost in extra innings.
The Pirates enter tonight’s game winners of two of their last three, but losers of four of their last six. They had an awful time in Florida before taking two of three at home against the Nationals this past weekend. Tonight they’ll throw Charlie Morton against Matt Cain.
MLB Free Pick: Cain should be able to stop the bleeding for the Giants tonight in Pittsburgh. The Giants’ offense came alive in that third game against the Braves on Sunday, so maybe an offensive onslaught is coming. According to latest MLB trends, the G-Men are 8-2 in their last 10 games against the Pirates, and 5-0 in Cain’s last five starts when they’re a road favorite. They’re also 6-1 in Cain’s last seven road starts overall, and 5-1 in his last six starts during game one of a series. Meanwhile, the Priates are 1-4 in Morton’s last five home starts and 4-18 in his last 22 starts following a team loss in their previous game. Take San Francisco to stop its current skid.
TUESDAY MLB FREE PICK: SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS –123
