Wednesday MLB Free Pick
(The Spread) – Two teams heading in opposite directions take to the diamond tonight when the Padres host the Reds.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made the visiting Reds –113 money line favorites over the Padres, who are +106 on the ML. The first pitch for tonight’s ballgame is set for 6:35PM ET.
This will be the third and final game of the series between these two teams, as the Reds will attempt a sweep. They beat San Diego 3-2 in Game 1 and 8-2 on Tuesday night, scoring six runs in extra innings against a Padre bullpen that is regarded as one of the best in the league.
Tim Stauffer will take the hill for the Padres against Travis Wood, who is 1-1 with a 5.25 ERA this season. He dominated in his first outing of the season, holding the Brewers to one run on just four hits in seven innings of work. But he was knocked around last Friday against the Diamondbacks, allowing six runs in just five innings.
MLB Free Pick: Sweeps are difficult to come by but the Reds seem destined to pull one off tonight. The Padres have lost five of their last six games, all of which have come at home. They’re averaging just two runs over that span and their offense is predictably sputtering now that Adrian Gonzalez is in Boston and not hitting dingers out of the spacious Petco Park. According to latest MLB trends, the Reds are 5-1 in Wood’s last six starts as a road faovirte and 7-3 in his last 10 starts when they’re the favorite. They’re also 8-3 in their last 11 games overall and 41-17 in their last 58 road games versus a team with a losing record. Take Cincinnati.
WEDNESDAY MLB FREE PICK: CINCINNATI REDS –117
