Friday MLB Free Pick
(The Spread) – A rematch of the 2010 NLCS will take place tonight in San Francisco when the Giants host the Phillies at 10:15PM ET.
Odds: Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog currently list the Phillies as -114 money line favorites over the Giants, who are +107 on the ML. The over/under total for tonight’s game in San Francisco is 6.5 runs.
Pitching Matchup: Vance Worley will be taking on Jonathan Sanchez in tonight’s pitching matchup. Worley enters the day with a 7-1 record and an outstanding 2.33 ERA, while Sanchez is 4-5 on the year with a 3.81 ERA.
Public Betting: Of the 4,900-plus wagers on tonight’s game, 73% of the MLB betting public favors the Phillies -114.
MLB Free Pick: Take Philadelphia. The Giants have been a train wreck since they took two of three games last week in Philly. They’ve lost six of their last seven games and despite adding Carlos Beltran, their offense has been horrendous. Worley shut the Giants down in his last start, tossing a compete game three-hitter while allowing just two runs and striking out five. Meanwhile, this is Sanchez’s first start since coming off the DL with a biceps injury. He struggled in several minor league rehab appearances and had Barry Zito not been so atrocious in his last four starts, Sanchez may not have seen the Giants’ starting rotation again. At -114, the Phillies are a great buy tonight, especially considering the Giants are just 1-6 in their last seven games and 0-5 in their last five games with the total set at 6.5 or lower according to latest MLB trends.
FRIDAY MLB FREE PICK: PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES -114
