Monday MLB Free Pick
(The Spread) – The Rockies and Indians open up a new series in Cleveland today as Interleague continues throughout baseball.
Odds: Oddsmakers from online sports book Bodog currently list the Indians as –114 money line favorites over the Rockies, who are +107 on the ML for tonight’s game. The over/under total is sitting at 8.5 runs.
Pitching Matchup: Tonight’s pitching matchup will feature Juan Nicasio and Fausto Carmona. In 24 innings this season, Nicasio is 2-1 with a 3.38 ERA while Carmona is 4-8 with a 5.79 ERA. After losing five-straight games, Carmona finally picked up his fourth win of the year last week as the Tribe beat the Tigers, 6-4.
Public Betting: Of the 2,700-plus wagers on tonight’s game, 55% of MLB public bettors currently favor the Rockies +107. That’s not entirely surprising considering the Indians have fallen off a bit after their torrid start.
MLB Free Pick: Take Cleveland. The Tribe have definitely cooled off since their hot start but they just swept the Pirates in which they outscored Pittsburgh 15-4. According to latest MLB trends, the Rockies are 0-5 in their last five trips to Cleveland and are just 3-13 in their last 16 games as an underdog. The Indians, meanwhile, are 7-0 in their last seven Interleague games and are 6-0 in their last six Interleague home games. Carmona has not pitched well this season but he’s due to start turning things around.
MONDAY MLB FREE PICK: CLEVELAND INDIANS –114
