Cleveland Indians at Cincinnati Reds, 7:10PM ET
Homer Bailey made his highly-anticipated major league debut against the Cleveland Indians in 2007. The Cincinnati Reds are still waiting for him to live up to the hype.
Bailey makes his season debut as the Reds continue a three-game series with Cleveland on Saturday, looking to win their fourth straight against their interleague rivals.
Bailey, the seventh overall pick in the 2004 draft, was widely considered one of the top prospects in baseball when he debuted June 8, 2007, against the Indians. The 23-year-old right-hander allowed two runs and five hits over five innings in that 4-3 victory and finished his rookie season 4-2 with a 5.76 ERA in nine starts. He struggled mightily in 2008, going 0-6 with a 7.93 ERA in eight starts.
Despite an impressive spring training, Bailey did not earn a spot in the rotation but was called up from Triple-A Louisville on Friday to take the place of the injured Edinson Volquez, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a sore back.

Colorado Rockies at Detroit Tigers, 7:05PM ET
The Detroit Tigers have managed just fine with Magglio Ordonez away from the team to deal with a family matter. With Armando Galarraga set to take the mound, though, they might want to have one of their best hitters penciled in.
The Tigers may have Ordonez back in the lineup as they try to extend their winning streak to eight Saturday night, and they may need a big game at the plate as Galarraga faces the Colorado Rockies in the middle game of an interleague series.
A six-time All-Star, Ordonez missed four games to be with his wife in Florida while she recovered from surgery and didn’t play in Detroit’s 4-3 win on Friday despite rejoining the team. The Tigers (24-16) now are in position to win eight in a row for the first time since 2007.
Detroit is atop the AL Central, four games in front of Kansas City, despite having to overcome the veteran right fielder’s slow start. Ordonez is batting .256 with just two homers and 17 RBIs after averaging 24 homers and 115 RBI over the previous three years.
