Tuesday MLB Picks
Our team of writers and handicappers hand out their MLB picks and predictions for Tuesday, May 26.
New York Yankees at Texas Rangers, 8:05PM ET
The New York Yankees have already been playing well. They can only imagine how much better things can get if Alex Rodriguez really gets untracked.
After a spectacular performance in the series opener, Rodriguez looks to torment his former team again Tuesday night when the Yankees continue a three-game road series against the Texas Rangers.
In his first game at Texas since admitting that he used performance-enhancing drugs during his tenure with the Rangers (26-18) from 2001-03, Rodriguez went 5 for 5 with four RBIs in an 11-1 victory Monday. It was his fifth career five-hit game, and second with the Yankees (26-19).

Boston Red Sox at Minnesota Twins, 8:10PM ET
Boston Red Sox manager Terry Francona doesn’t mind seeing the red-hot Joe Mauer in the Minnesota Twins’ lineup – as long as his team can continue its winning streak against them.
The AL East-leading Red Sox look to win their seventh straight over Mauer and the Twins on Tuesday night at the Metrodome.
Boston (27-18) has outscored Minnesota (22-24) 48-19 during six consecutive wins in the series. Their most recent matchup was much closer, however, with the Red Sox holding on for a 6-5 victory Monday.
Mauer delivered a pinch-hit, two-run homer in the ninth off closer Jonathan Papelbon to cut Boston’s lead to one, but Delmon Young flied out to end it, snapping Minnesota’s four-game winning streak.

San Diego Padres at Arizona Diamondbacks, 9:40PM ET
Things are going so well for the San Diego Padres that they’re even starting to win on the road.
Coming off their first road victory in almost a month, the Padres look to extend their winning streak to 11 games Tuesday night as they face the Arizona Diamondbacks.
San Diego (23-22) overcame a six-run deficit to beat Arizona 9-7 in 10 innings in Monday’s series opener, snapping an 11-game road losing streak and moving over .500 for the first time since it was 11-10 on April 29.
The Padres, whose previous road victory came 4-3 at Colorado on April 28, are 6-16 away from home. They haven’t won consecutive road contests since a three-game winning streak from April 16-18.
