O’s, Yankees kick off big series at Camden
While the Orioles aren’t necessarily reeling at the moment, they’re in need of an authoritative performance to kick off this weekend’s set vs. the Yankees. Will Dylan Bundy offer such an effort tonight?
The young righty will draw his 10th assignment of the season in several hours. According to oddsmakers at online sports book BetDSI, his O’s are 1.5-run favorites in this spot. New York enters Camden Yards as a slight underdog, with the over/under run figure resting at nine.
By virtue of losing four its last six contests, Baltimore has slipped four games behind first-place Toronto in the American League East. Buck Showalter’s squad is also knotted with Detroit for the final wild-card spot. A gem from Bundy, however, could reverse the momentum in a hurry. The hurler owns a 5-3 record with a sub-4.00 ERA since joining the rotation in mid-July.
On the other side, Chad Green hopes to rebound from last week’s horrendous showing vs. the Yanks. The 25-year-old was tagged for four runs on seven hits in that affair. The Bronx Bombers’ bang-up job on offense, though, got him off the hook.

Showalter’s troops understand the current gravity of the situation. They’ve been on a slide ever since the All-Star break, a stretch made worse by injuries to Adam Jones and Joey Rickard. Expect Bundy to flip the script in a short while, however, and get the Orioles moving back in the right direction.
