From Rotoworld: Guerra was strong in his return from the disabled list Friday, giving up one run over 5 2/3 innings against the Diamondbacks. Out since Opening Day with a calf strain, Guerra gave up three hits and three walks in his return, with the only run scoring when Jake Lamb took him deep in the third inning. He struck out five and induced 15 swinging strikes in his 98 pitches. The 32-year-old surprised with a 2.81 ERA in 20 starts last season and while we’re not expecting a repeat, he’s capable of being a factor in mixed leagues.
deGrom struck out 10 and allowed one run over 8 1/3 innings in Friday’s victory over the Pirates. It was the longest outing by a Mets starter this season. And boy, did they need it. DeGrom allowed just six hits and one walk, with the lone run scoring on a solo homer from Gregory Polanco in the fourth inning. Terry Collins gave him the chance to go the distance initially, but deGrom gave up a leadoff single to Polanco and struck out David Freese looking before being pulled at 118 pitches. DeGrom improved to 4-1 with the victory and now owns a 3.23 ERA and 86/24 K/BB ratio in 64 innings through 10 starts.
