From Rotoworld: Cain gave up two runs — one earned — in five innings and was charged with a loss to the Rockies on Saturday. He surrendered nine hits and two walks while notching three strikeouts. He allowed a ton of contact but was able to keep the ball in the yard. Cain owns a weak 46/32 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 74 innings this season. He falls to 3-6 with a 4.99 ERA and woeful 1.69 WHIP after 14 starts.
Garcia allowed six runs on seven hits over 5 2/3 innings in a no-decision Saturday against the Marlins. Garcia was actually pitching pretty well until the fifth inning, when things fell apart quickly. He left in line for his sixth loss — and what would have been his third in a row — before the Braves came back to tie and eventually win the game in extras. Losses aside, Garcia had really been rolling coming into Saturday’s game, having rattled off five straight quality starts, so for now it appears that the stumble was just that. Garcia will carry a 3.59 ERA and 1.26 WHIP into a Thursday matchup with the Giants.
