Straily pitched seven innings of three-run ball Monday in a loss to the Cubs. Going from Cincinnati to Miami figured to help Straily, and it has; he’s given up a total of two homers while amassing a 2.27 ERA in seven starts at home. Unfortunately, while tonight’s performance at Wrigley was fine, he’s surrendered seven homers and posted a 5.46 ERA in five starts elsewhere. He’ll get another road start against the Pirates this weekend. (Rotoworld)
Williams tossed seven innings of one-run ball Sunday in the Pirates’ blowout win over the Mets. Williams was backed by 11 runs of support from the Pittsburgh offense and cruised through his seven frames, scattering seven hits and two walks while striking out three. The 25-year-old right-hander has now been sharp in back-to-back outings for the Bucs, but he still holds an underwhelming 4.57 overall ERA. A start at home against the Marlins comes next.
Bet Today’s Marlins vs. Pirates Game
OUR PREDICTION: Straily’s 5.46 ERA on the road is concerning, but the Pirates have been below average against right-handed pitching this season (94 wRC+). Plus, the Marlins are now 9-2 in their last 11 games against the Pirates and have won five straight meetings with the Bucs in Pittsburgh.
