Matz will carry a disappointing 5.51 ERA and 1.50 WHIP into a brutal matchup against the Rockies in Colorado on Tuesday.
Hoffman was knocked around in Wednesday’s loss to the Cardinals, giving up seven runs (six earned) on seven hits across four innings of work. The rookie right-hander walked three and struck out three on the night. Most of the damage against him came during a five-run uprising in the fourth inning, highlighted by a two-run double from Matt Carpenter.
