From Rotoworld: Foltynewicz walked away with the victory after holding the Brewers to one run in five innings of work on Friday. The lone run scored on a solo homer off the bat of Keon Broxton in the fourth inning. Folty gave up four hits and three walks while striking out nine batters, so he needed 104 pitches to complete five innings. He’s now won five out of his last six decisions to move to 5-5 on the year. He’ll bring a 4.10 ERA into a tasty matchup against the Padres in San Diego next week.
Gray was terrific in Sunday’s victory over the White Sox, allowing just two runs (one earned) on four hits over his seven frames. Gray racked up seven strikeouts on the afternoon while walking only one. He gave up a solo homer to Adam Engel in the third inning, then kept the White Sox off the board except for an unearned run that scampered home on a passed ball in the fourth. Now 3-3 on the season, Gray will carry a 4.45 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 65/22 K/BB ratio into Saturday’s matchup against the Braves.
Bet Tonight’s Braves vs. A’s Game
OUR PREDICTION: The Braves are a perfect 4-0 in the last four meetings between these two teams. They’re also 4-0 in Foltnewicz’s last four starts, are 5-2 in his last seven outings when he faces a team with a losing record, and are 7-3 in their last 10 games when facing a right-handed starter. Despite Gray’s excellence, the A’s are just 9-20 in his last 29 starts and are 0-4 in their last four home games.
