Reds vs. Brewers Prediction
Can the Brewers solve Reds’ rookie Amir Garrett, who is off to an outstanding start this season? The NL Central rivals clash at 7:40PM ET tonight.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Reds are -110 money line favorites to beat the Brewers, who have odds of +100 to pull off the upset at home. With Garrett set to oppose Matt Garza in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 8.5 runs.

REDS KEY TRENDS: After a good start to 2017, the Reds have slumped of late. They’re 1-4 in their last five games overall, are 2-5 in their last seven divisional games, and are 1-4 in their last five games after scoring five runs or more in their previous game. They’ve also dropped 17 of 25 after allowing five runs or more in their previous contest.
BREWERS KEY TRENDS: The Brewers dropped three of four to the Cardinals at home over the weekend, including three in a row. They’re 1-5 in their last six games overall, 1-5 in their last six home games, and are 4-10 in Garza’s last 14 starts against the National League Central. That said, they are 6-2 in his last eight home outings.
Bet Tonight’s Reds vs. Brewers Game
OUR PICK: The Reds haven’t played well of late but they are 4-0 in their last four road games and Garrett has been sensational to start the season. In three starts, the rookie has allowed just four runs on 14 hits over 19 2/3 combined innings. Milwaukee has a dangerous lineup but if Garrett pitches well again tonight, the Reds should open this series with a victory. With both teams struggling at the moment, I’ll back the more appealing pitcher.
