Padres vs. Phillies Prediction
Can the Padres pull off another upset today at 4:05PM ET when they take on the Phillies for Game 2 of their series?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Phillies are -145 money line favorites versus the Padres, who have odds of +135 to pull off the upset in Philadelphia. With Jhoulys Chacin set to face Aaron Nola in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 8 runs.

From Rotoworld: Chacin allowed just three singles, a double and three hits over five scoreless innings while striking out six batters in a win against the Dodgers on Sunday. Chacin evened his record at 7-7 while lowering his ERA to 4.52. He racked up a season-high 107 pitches, although he faced just 24 batters, lowest amount since May 28. Still, he has really turned things around since that May 28 start, posting a 3-3 record and 2.84 ERA over his past six outings to chop his ERA down from 5.77.
Nola was outstanding in Monday’s victory over the Pirates, racking up eight strikeouts over seven shutout innings. Nola scattered four hits and a walk on the brilliant evening. The right-hander followed up a terrific month of June with a stellar outing to start the month of July, lowering his ERA to 3.73 in the process. He’ll finish up his first half with a nice matchup against the Padres at home on Saturday.
Bet Today’s Padres vs. Phillies Game
OUR PREDICTION: I don’t like the price on a lousy Phillies team but I’m going to back Nola. He’s coming off his best three-start stretch of the season, allowing only three runs over 21 1/3 innings while striking out 25 batters. San Diego struggles versus right-handers and posts plenty of strikeouts so Nola should fair well. Whether Philadelphia’s bats show up is another question, but I like the home team in this spot.
