Dodgers vs. Tigers Pick
Will the Los Angeles Dodgers have any trouble winning on the road against the Detroit Tigers when the two open the series tonight at 7:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Dodgers are getting odds of -220 to win this series opener. Detroit is listed with +180 odds to win at home, while the over/under total for the game has been set at 10 runs. These two haven’t met since 2014.

The pitching matchup tonight has Rich Hill (8-4, 3.44 ERA) on the mound for the Dodgers to face Jordan Zimmerman (7-9, 5.62) of the Tigers. Zimmerman is coming off a 7-run, 3.1-inning outing against the Twins. He now has 86 strikeouts with 38 walks and a 1.49 WHIP this season. Hill has been pretty steady this season. He hasn’t allowed more than three runs in his last nine starts. Hills has 107 strikeouts with 37 walks and a 1.20 WHIP this season.
The Dodgers have won four straight coming into tonight’s game. Los Angeles is 85-34 overall and 34-20 on the road. Los Angeles averages 5.12 runs per game in 2017 while allowing just 3.32 per game. The Dodgers are being led by Cody Bellinger, who has 19 doubles, 34 home runs and 79 RBI. Corey Seager adds 30 doubles, 19 home runs and 59 RBI.
The Tigers have lost four straight and six of their last seven entering this series. Detroit is 53-67 on the season and 29-28 at home. Detroit is scoring 4.82 runs per game while allowing 5.26 runs per contest. The Tigers are being led by Justin Upton, who has 33 doubles, 23 home runs and 85 RBI. Nicholas Castellanos is adding 22 doubles, 16 home runs and 68 RBI.
The Dodgers have been rolling along all season and going to Detroit shouldn’t cause much of a problem. Zimmerman hasn’t shown he has the stuff to win at home or on the road. Hill has been steady and is facing a lineup that is on the decline. The run line has the Dodgers at -125 by giving up 1.5 runs. I think Los Angeles should be able to cover that with some breathing room.
