The pitching matchup today has Danny Salazar (4-5, 4.32 ERA) on the mound for the Indians to face Blake Snell (0-6, 4.98) of the Rays. Salazar has been really strong lately, allowing just three runs over his last 20 innings of work. On the season, he has 105 strikeouts with 33 walks and a 1.33 WHIP. Snell hasn’t been terrible, but he has allowed three runs in his last four starts. He now has 64 strikeouts with 41 walks in 2017 and a 1.58 WHIP.

The Indians are coming off a 2-game split with the Rockies and they have lost three of their last four games entering this weekend series. Cleveland is 60-51 overall and 29-24 on the road. The Tribe is averaging 4.83 runs per game while allowing just 3.95. Edwin Encarnacion has been leading the team with 22 home runs and 64 RBI while Jose Ramirez has 34 doubles, 18 home runs and 56 RBI.

Tampa dropped a pair of games to Boston before this series and the Rays have lost four of their last five. The Rays are now 58-57 overall and 30-27 at home. Tampa is scoring 4.45 runs per game this season while giving up 4.43. Tampa is being led by Corey Dickerson, who has 27 doubles with 21 home runs and 50 RBI. Logan Morrison has added 28 home runs with 66 RBI.

Bet on Indians vs. Rays

Snell seems to be set in giving up at least three runs in this start based on his trends the past few weeks. That’s not good for Tampa, as their offense has gone very cold and they face a pitcher that is on his “A” game. The Rays have scored just four total runs in their last five games. That’s not going to fly today, as Cleveland is going to be able to hit Snell. Look for the Rays’ bats to go silent again tonight.
