PUBLIC BETTING INFORMATION
The public is backing the Indians today. Cleveland is currently getting 76 percent of the wagers for this game on the road against the Mariners.
KEY INJURIES
The Indians are opening the season with Michael Brantley on the injury report due to an ankle injury. He is on the DL after offseason surgery but is expected to return sometime in April. Seattle catcher Mike Zunino is on the DL right now after suffering an oblique strain and Nelson Cruz is questionable to play today due to an ankle injury he suffered on Saturday.
BETTING STRATEGIES
After dropping the first game of the series on Thursday, 2-1, the Indians bounced back on Saturday with a 6-5 victory on the road. Cleveland put up four runs in the first inning on Seattle starter James Paxton and held on from there. Yonder Alonso connected on a grand slam to give Cleveland the 4-0 lead. Yan Gomes added a two-rum home run in the fourth.
Carlos Carrasco lasted 5.2 innings and allowed five runs, but still got the win for Cleveland. The Indians bullpen went 3.1 innings of scoreless ball. Cruz drove in a pair of runs before leaving the game while Robinson Cano had three hits to lead Seattle at the plate.
With Cruz possibly out, the Mariners take a big hit in their lineup. Seattle doesn’t have the hitting or pitching to match up with Cleveland on most nights. The Indians will be able to get to Leake and the bullpen can shutdown Seattle if Bauer happens to struggle. I like Cleveland on the road.
