White Sox vs. Rays Pick
After a low-scoring game on Tuesday, will the Chicago White Sox and Tampa Bay Rays push for the over when they meet tonight at 7:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Tampa Bay is favored to win this game, as they are getting odds of -160 to win. The White Sox are listed with odds of +150 to win, while the over/under total for the game is set at 8.5 runs.

The pitching matchup for tonight’s game has Mike Pelfrey (2-4, 3.86 ERA) on the mound for the White Sox to face Jacob Faria of the Rays. Faria is making his MLB debut tonight for Tampa Bay. Pelfrey started poorly this year, but has been improving his numbers as of late. In his last three starts, Pelfrey has pitched 16 innings, allowing just two earned runs with 15 strikeouts and 3 walks. His WHIP this season is 1.16.
The White Sox picked up a 4-2 win on Tuesday night to open the series. The two went under the total of 7.5 runs. Chicago is now 25-31 overall, 13-20 on the road and 27-26 with the over. Tampa Bay is 29-31 overall, 16-14 at home and 34-26 with the over.
Tuesday’s contest saw some good pitching, as Chris Archer went 7 innings for the Rays but still took the loss. He had 11 strikeouts while allowing just two runs. Jose Quintana pitched 5.1 innings and allowed just 1 run on four hits with seven strikeouts. The Chicago bullpen then pitched 3.2 innings and allowed just one run on two hits. The White Sox had three home runs in the win, with Yolmer Sanchez, Avisail Garcia and Todd Frazier each going long. Kevin Kiermaier had three hits to lead the Rays.
I thought the two would hit the over last night, but they came up short. Tonight, I think they will hit the over once again. Pelfrey has been promising, but I still think he is on the brink of falling apart at any time. Faria is a complete unknown, so he could have a great start, or he could struggle with control and allow some baserunners. He isn’t likely to go deep into the game, nor is Pelfrey. I think the bullpens will give up some runs and that will allow the runs to come in.
