Will the Boston Red Sox be able to pick up another win over the Minnesota Twins and struggle to score runs again tonight at 7:10PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, the Red Sox remain a heavy favorite at home, as they are getting odds of -180 to win, while the Twins are getting a money line of +160 to win. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 10.5 runs.

The pitching matchup today has Rick Porcello (4-9, 5.00 ERA) on the mound for the Red Sox to face Adalberto Mejia (2-3, 4.93) of the Twins. Porcello has looked nothing like his 2016 version, giving up at least four runs in his last four starts. On the season, he has allowed 55 earned runs over 99 innings. He has 19 walks with 93 strikeouts and a 1.53 WHIP. Mejia is coming off a five-inning scoreless effort. It was arguably his best showing of the year. He has 40 strikeouts and 27 walks this season with a 1.58 WHIP.
The Red Sox have won the first two games of the series by a combined score of 13-3. The Red Sox have now won four straight against the Twins this year. Boston is now 43-34 overall and 24-13 at home while the Twins are 39-36 overall and 23-11 on the road.
The Sox had a 9-2 win at home on Tuesday night. Drew Pomeranz only pitched five innings, but it was enough to earn his seventh win. Hector Santiago had to leave the game after just two innings and the Minnesota bullpen gave up seven runs over the last seven innings. Three errors by the Twins helped the Boston effort. Chris Young led the Sox with three RBI while Christian Vazquez drove in two. Eduardo Escobar had a home run to lead the Twins.
Minnesota had come into this series hot, but the Twins have been cooled off quickly. Porcello hasn’t been doing great at icing teams this season, but I think he will see an improved performance against this struggling Minnesota team. The Red Sox should be able to continue to hit against Mejia, but even if they can’t he shouldn’t last too deep into the game anyway.
