Tigers vs. Rockies Pick
Will the Detroit Tigers manage to string together another upset win over the Colorado Rockies when the two meet tonight at 8:40PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Rockies are the favorite at home, as they are getting odds of -150 to win. The Tigers are listed with a money line of +125 to win, while the over/under total has been set at 11 runs.

The pitching matchup for tonight’s game has Michael Fulmer (10-11, 3.69 ERA) on the mound for the Tigers to face German Marquez (10-5, 4.18) of the Rockies. Fulmer has been a pitcher capable of lockdown performances, but he has also allowed at least five runs in four of his last six starts. Fulmer has 111 strikeouts this season with 39 walks and a 1.14 WHIP. Marquez has struggled somewhat as well, allowing at least two runs in his last three starts. Marquez has 115 strikeouts this season with 40 walks and a 1.32 WHIP.
The Tigers opened this series with a 4-3 win at Colorado last night. The Tigers have won six straight meetings with the Rockies dating back to 2012. Detroit is 57-73 overall and 26-41 on the road while Colorado is 71-60 overall and 38-26 at home.
In Monday’s game, all of the runs were scored in the first three innings. Jordan Zimmerman managed to get his eighth win after allowing three runs in five innings. Somehow the Tigers’ bullpen pitched four scoreless innings. Antonio Senzatela lasted just 3.2 innings and gave up all four runs for the Rockies. Nicholas Castellanos had three hits and drove in three runs for the Tigers while Justin Upton also drove in a run. Jonathan Lucroy had three hits with a home run and two RBI to lead Colorado.
The Tigers managed to get a stellar performance from the bullpen on Monday, but that is not something you should expect again today. Detroit had to go deep into its ben during the win on Monday, so there aren’t many fresh arms left from a bad group of arms to begin with. Fulmer could have a good outing, but he’s had good outings ruined by his pen or lack of hitting before. Fulmer hasn’t recorded a win since July 15 and I don’t see it changing tonight.
