The pitching matchup for today’s game has Ian Kennedy on the mound for the Royals to face Trevor Bauer of the Indians. Bauer also got a no-decision when he faces Seattle last Sunday. He allowed two runs and five hits over five innings with seven strikeouts and three walks.

BETTING STRATEGIES
Cleveland opened the series on Friday with a 3-2 win, which didn’t cover the run line. The Indians have now won seven of their last eight against KC dating back to last season. In Friday’s win, all five runs were scored in the first inning. The Cleveland bullpen had three scoreless innings on the mound which helped Carlos Carrasco get his second win. Danny Duffy pitched 5.2 innings for the Royals and allowed the three runs to fall to 0-2 on the season.
Michael Brantley made his season debut on Friday and drove in the winning runs on a two-run single in the first. Jose Ramirez drove in the other run for Cleveland in the first. Lucas Duda had a hit and drove in a run after returning from injury for the Royals. Jon Jay and Whit Merrifield each had two hits for KC as well.
The Indians are an awfully big favorite for a pitching matchup that seems relatively even. Kennedy looked good in his first start while Bauer was okay, but not dominant. Cleveland’s lineup hasn’t been lighting the world on fire either, so there is no guarantee it will pull away from KC. I think the Royals may have the recipe today to pull off the upset.
