PUBLIC BETTING INFORMATION

The public is backing the Tigers today. Detroit is currently getting 59 percent of the wagers for this game as the home favorite against Kansas City.

KEY INJURIES

The Royals have first baseman Lucas Duda listed on the injury report for today’s game. He is dealing with a tight hamstring and had to leave Monday’s game. Duda is questionable to play today. Detroit shortstop Jose Iglesias is questionable to play today due to a calf injury. He was unable to play on Monday.

BETTING STRATEGIES

Detroit opened its series with Kansas City with a 6-1 win on Monday afternoon. Detroit got a very encouraging start from Francisco Liriano, as he went 6.2 innings and allowed just one run on four hits. The Detroit bullpen also pitched 2.1 scoreless innings. Victory Martinez had a pair of hits and drove in three runs to lead the Tigers at the plate while Nicholas Castellanos had two hits and scored two runs.

Jason Hammel lasted just five innings on the mound for the Royals and gave up five runs on seven hits. Alcides Escobar was the lone Kansas City hitter to pick up a pair of hits in the loss.

The Royals haven’t been too impressive at the plate thus far in 2018. While they scored seven runs in the opener against the White Sox, they also allowed 14. Since then they have produced four runs over two games while giving up 10. I don’t like these trends as their starting pitching doesn’t seem strong enough to keep opponents off the scoreboard.
