Can the Kansas City Royals find their way to a winning record with a victory over the Chicago White Sox today at 2:15PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Kansas City is favored at home, as the Royals are getting odds of -145 to win, while the White Sox are listed with a money line of +135 to win. The over/under total for the game has been set at 10 runs.

The pitching matchup today has Lucas Giolito (2-2, 2.84 ERA) on the mound for the White Sox to face Eric Skoglund (1-2, 10.29) of the Royals. Giolito has started four games this season, allowing 10 runs over 25.1 innings. He has 23 strikeouts with eight walks and a 0.91 WHIP. Skoglund has appeared in five games, starting four of them. He has allowed 16 earned runs over 14 innings with 11 strikeouts and 10 walks.
The White Sox took the first game in this series on Monday night, 11-3. The Royals responded with a 4-3 win on Tuesday over Chicago. Kansas City is now 72-72 overall and 39-35 at home. Chicago is 57-87 overall and 23-47 on the road.
Tuesday’s game saw the Royals get four runs in the first inning on a Brandon Moss grand slam and then hold on from there. The Royals finished with just four hits in the game, while the White Sox had 13. Sam Gaviglio got the win with two runs allowed over five innings. Rob Brantly and Tim Anderson each had two hits and drove in a run for the White Sox.
Kansas City managed a win on Tuesday, but it wasn’t quite in impressive fashion. The Royals had one outburst of good hitting before going back to being silent for eight innings. The Kansas City pitching isn’t likely to be great today as Skoglund has really struggled. Giolito doesn’t have a lot to offer either, but I feel the Sox have the better lineup. Kansas City goes too quiet at the plate for too long of periods.
