From Rotoworld: Scherzer earned his ninth victory of the season on Tuesday, limiting the Cubs to one run on two hits over his six innings of work. The star right-hander struck out six and didn’t issue a free pass in the contest. He allowed an RBI triple to Kris Bryant in the first inning, but was lights-out afterwards, retiring 16 of the final 17 batters he faced. Scherzer sports an outstanding 2.06 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 151/24 K/BB ratio through 113 2/3 innings on the season.

Martinez surrendered two runs in six innings and struck out 10 in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks on Tuesday. Martinez has been blessed with an easy schedule this year, which has played a role in his 2.88 ERA. Still, he deserves far better than his current 6-6 record. Tonight’s quality start was his 12th in 16 starts this year.
