Phillies vs. Rockies Prediction

Is the betting total between the Phillies and Rockies today at 3:10PM ET set too high?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Rockies are -110 money line favorites versus the Phillies, who have odds of +105 to pull off the small upset in Denver. With Aaron Nola set to face Jeff Hoffman in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 11 runs.

From Rotoworld: Nola allowed two earned runs while scattering eight hits over six innings in a road loss Tuesday against the Angels. Nola might have suffered the loss, but he posted his eighth consecutive quality start dating back to June 16. There haven’t been many bright spots in the City of Brotherly Love this season, but Nola has been ace-like. He has lowered his ERA in each of his past eight outings. His next start is set for Sunday in Colorado.

Hoffman allowed two earned runs, five hits and three walks with five strikeouts over six innings in a no-decision Tuesday against the Mets. Hoffman threw 61 of his 101 pitches for strikes for a much-needed good outing after posting an 8.00 ERA over five outings across 27 innings in the month of July. He’ll look to get back into the win column in his next scheduled outing Sunday against Aaron Nola and the Phillies.

Bet Tonight’s Diamondbacks vs. Giants Game

OUR PREDICTION: The under is 5-1 in the Phillies’ last five games versus National League East opponents, is 18-5-5 in their last 27 gaes following a loss, and is 4-2 in their last five road games versus a team with a winning record. For as much firepower as Colorado’s offense possess, the Rockies’ bats can go slient at times. They’re facing a weak-hitting Phillies’ lineup, so I like the under to cash even though the game today will be played at Coors Field.
