Blue Jays vs. Yankees Prediction
Is the betting total for tonight’s Blue Jays and Yankees game at 7:05PM ET set too high?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Yankees are -125 money line favorites versus the Blue Jays, who have odds of +105 to pull off the upset in the Bronx. With Marcus Stroman set to face Masahiro Tanaka in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 9 runs, down from the original number of 9.5.

Stroman hurled 7 2/3 innings of shutout baseball to beat the Orioles 4-0 on Wednesday. He punched out eight batters and walked just one. He surrendered five base hits — all singles — and took advantage of an early lead to cruise through the game without much of a challenge. His record improves to 8-4 with a 3.41 ERA in 16 starts. He has 84 strikeouts and 24 walks in 100 1/3 innings of work.
Tanaka pitched six innings of two-run ball in a victory over the White Sox on Wednesday. Tanaka has turned in consecutive strong outings with Gary Sanchez behind the plate, which seems like particularly good news for the Yankees; his previous success this season almost exclusively came in Austin Romine pairings. Tanaka allowed six hits, walked two and struck out five tonight. Although he shut out the Rangers for eight innings last time out, the win tonight was his first since May 8.
Bet Tonight’s Blue Jays vs. Yankees Game
OUR PREDICTION: The under has cashed in nine of Tanaka’s last 10 starts against the Blue Jays and in six of his last seven home outings versus Toronto. On the other side, the under is 5-1 in Stroman’s last six starts versus the Yankees and is 4-1 in his last five outings overall. Even though both of these teams can slug, I wouldn’t be surprised if this game turns into a pitcher’s duel tonight.
MONDAY MLB PREDICTION: BLUE JAYS/YANKEES UNDER 9.5
