PUBLIC BETTING INFORMATION
The public is backing the Angels today. Los Angeles is getting 61 percent of the wagers for this game as the underdog at home against Oakland.
KEY INJURIES
Ian Kinsler is listed on the injury report for the Angels. He is probable to play today after being activated from the 10-day DL. Oakland’s Chad Pinder is questionable to play today due to a knee injury.
BETTING STRATEGIES
The Angels picked up a 13-9 win over Oakland on Friday behind a five-run seventh inning. Justin Upton broke the game open with a three-run home run in the seventh to give the Angels the lead for good. Upton and Andrelton Simmons each had three hits to lead the Angeles in the victory. Parker Bridwell only lasted 1.2 innings in his start for Los Angeles, as he allowed six runs and seven hits. The bullpen allowed three runs over the final 7.1 innings, as six pitchers combined to replace Bridwell.
Daniel Gossett lasted only 3.1 innings for Oakland, giving up five runs on five hits. The Oakland bullpen then allowed seven runs over 4.2 innings. The Athletics actually hit five home runs in the loss as Matt Chapman had two hits and drove in two runs while Jed Lowrie had three hits and drove in a run.
The Athletics may be favored, but I don’t trust them to win consistently on the road. Neither pitcher is really anything special and I like the Los Angeles hitters to produce more consistently than the Athletics. Los Angeles is 3-1 at home already this season so I will take them as a home underdog.
