Mariners vs. Rockies Prediction
Are the Rockies a safe bet to beat the Mariners this afternoon at 3:10PM ET in Denver?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Rockies are -146 money line favorites versus the Mariners, who have odds of +136 to pull off the upset in Denver. With Sam Gaviglio set to face Tyler Chatwood in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 11 runs.

Gaviglio gave up five runs — only one was earned — in six innings and was charged with a loss against the Nationals on Wednesday.
Things went south in a hurry as he surrendered four unearned runs in the first inning thanks to an error by shortstop Jean Segura. Gaviglio ended up allowing a three-run bomb to Anthony Rendon in the frame. He gave up six hits and two walks and managed only one strikeout in the ballgame. He has a 1.38 ERA in 13 innings and is getting a chance to start because four members of the Mariners’ rotation are on the disabled list (Felix Hernandez, Hisashi Iwakuma, James Paxton and Drew Smyly). Chatwood allowed just one base hit and struck out eight batters in seven shutout innings to beat the Phillies 7-2 on Wednesday. He carried a no-hitter into the fifth inning when catcher Andrew Knapp singled. Chatwood walked four batters and picked one of them off base. He threw 112 pitches and had to be pulled after seven innings. His record improves to 4-6 with a 4.50 ERA and 1.33 WHIP. He will face the Mariners and Padres in a two-start week coming up next.
Bet Today’s Mariners vs. Rockies Game
OUR PREDICTION: The Mariners have dropped seven of 10 overall and eight of 10 on the road despite upsetting the Red Sox yesterday in Boston. The Rockies, meanwhile, have won six of their last eight games, are 14-3 in their last 17 games when playing the opener of a series, and are 6-1 in Chatwood’s last seven starts when their opponent allows two runs or less in its previous contest. The Mariners have actually had some success in Denver and the Rockies have been unprofitable in interleague play. But I still believe Colorado is a safe bet to win today.
