From Rotoworld: Chatwood allowed one run on four hits over six innings in Thursday’s win over the Cubs. Chatwood struck out four and walked two on the evening. He surrendered a solo home run to Kris Bryant in the first inning, but shut the Cubs down on the scoreboard over the next five innings. With this one in the books, Chatwood will bring a 4.37 ERA and 1.29 WHIP into a road showdown with the Pirates next time he takes to the mound. He tends to be a much, much more useful fantasy option on the road than he does at home, where he owns a 7.03 ERA in six starts.
Cole was knocked around by the Marlins on Thursday, allowing seven runs on 11 hits over 4 2/3 innings in a loss. None of the Marlins’ 11 hits left the yard, but they smacked five doubles against the Bucs’ ace. It’s been a rough go of it lately for Cole, who has allowed 23 earned runs in his last 19 1/3 innings of work. In 13 starts overall, the right-hander is 3-6 with a 4.83 ERA and 1.34 WHIP. A date with the hot-hitting Rockies doesn’t make Cole’s life any easier when the two will meet up on Tuesday.
