KEY INJURIES
Kansas City has Alex Gordon listed on the injury report for today’s contest. He has been put on the 10-day DL with a hip injury. Seattle DH Nelson Cruz is on the 10-day DL with an oblique strain and first baseman Ryon Healy is out today after being placed on the 10-day DL with an ankle injury.
BETTING STRATEGIES
The Royals earned a 10-0 win in the first game of this series on Monday but the Mariners earned an 8-3 win over the Royals on Tuesday. Felix Hernandez earned his second win of the season on Tuesday as he pitched 5.2 innings and allowed three runs on six hits with three strikeouts. Eric Skoglund took the loss for the Royals, allowing five runs over 4.2 innings on six hits.
Seattle put up four runs over the first two innings of play. Jean Segura had three hits with two runs and two RBI to lead the Mariners at the plate. Mitch Haniger and Kyle Seager each drove in two runs for Seattle. Mike Moustakas drove in all three runs for Kansas City thanks to his second home run of the season.
The first two games of the series have been polar opposites. Both offenses have produced a lot of runs in their win and struggled to hit in the loss. This pitching matchup today is pretty even and both are not reliable. Because of that I am going to take my chances on the home underdog. I think Kansas City can get to Paxton and develop some early momentum.
MLB PREDICTIONS: KANSAS CITY ROYALS +130
