Phillies vs. Mets Prediction
Will the Mets make it two straight against the Phillies when the NL East rivals face off at 4:10PM ET today in New York?
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Mets are -170 money line favorites versus the Phillies, who have odds of +155 to pull off the upset in New York today. With Jeremy Hellickson set to face Zack Wheeler in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 9 runs.

From Rotoworld: Hellickson surrendered just one run on three hits over six innings while taking a no-decision in Sunday’s 11-inning loss to the Diamondbacks. In terms of runs, Hellickson allowed just a Paul Goldschmidt RBI single in the fourth inning. That had him on the hook to take a tough-luck loss, but the Phillies managed to tie the game at 1-1 in the seventh to make it a bullpen game. Hellickson struck out seven without walking a batter in the crisp outing. Next up on the docket, a road start against the Mets. The veteran right-hander will carry a 4.40 ERA and 1.26 WHIP into that affair.
Wheeler (biceps) threw another bullpen session on Thursday. Wheeler made it through the session without issue and is on track to start Saturday against the Phillies. The right-hander only ended up missing one start with biceps tendinitis. He had a rough month, going winless with a 9.53 ERA over four June starts.
Bet Today’s Phillies vs. Mets Game
OUR PREDICTION: The Mets are a little pricey but I like fading the Phillies today. Philadelphia is 0-4 in Hellickson’s last four starts, is 13-41 in its last 54 road games, and has lost seven of 24 meetings against the Mets in New York. The Mets haven’t been a great play with Wheeler on the hill (just 1-4 in his last five starts), but are 41-17 in their last 58 games versus the Phillies.
