From Rotoworld: Gossett allowed five runs (four earned) on nine hits over 3 2/3 innings in Friday’s loss to the Twins. Gossett allowed an RBI single to Ehire Adrianza in the second inning, but the fourth would truly be his undoing. In that frame, Jason Castro and Brian Dozier both dinged him for RBI knocks and he uncorked a run-scoring wild pitch before an infield RBI single by Miguel Sano ended his night with two outs in in the inning. Gossett struck out four and walked three in the wobbly outing and will carry an unwieldy 5.74 ERA and 1.49 WHIP (nine starts) into a road showdown with the Giants next time he takes to the mound.
Moore allowed four runs (three earned) on three hits over 6 1/3 innings in Friday’s loss to the Dodgers. A trying season for the Giants continues. They were leading 4-2 after a big top of the seventh inning, but Moore let that slip through his fingers like so much sand in the hourglass when he came out to pitch the bottom of the inning. The Dodgers put up a four-spot in the frame, with two of those runs landing on Moore’s line — including a game-tying RBI double surrendered to Chris Taylor. Corey Seager would hit a two-run homer later in the frame to give the Dodgers a 6-4 lead. Moore will bring a bloated 5.74 ERA and 1.59 WHIP into a home start against the A’s next time he toes the rubber.
