From Rotoworld: Strahm will start for the Royals on Thursday against the Angels. And it sounds like he could remain in the rotation for a bit if that outing goes well. Strahm, 25, has registered an underwhelming 4.50 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, and 26/18 K/BB ratio in 22 innings of relief this season for Kansas City, but he was an effective starter in the minors and was very good out of the Royals’ bullpen in 2016. He’ll be on a pitch count of 65-70 in his first career major league start Thursday at Angel Stadium.
Nolasco took a loss despite allowing just two runs in seven innings against the Astros on Saturday. The Trout-less Angels offense didn’t give him much run support. He gave up eight hits and zero walks while fanning two in the outing. One of the hits was a Brian McCann solo homer in the second inning. Nolasco falls to 2-7 with a 4.81 ERA after 13 starts. He has a solid 62/18 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 73 innings.
Bet Tonight’s Royals vs. Angels Game
OUR PREDICTION: The Royals are 4-0 in their last four games versus the Angels and come into tonight’s meeting on a four-game winning streak. They’re also 5-2 in their last seven road games versus a right-handed starter and are 4-1 in their last five games following a win. On the other side, the Angels are winless at 0-8 in Nolasco’s last eight starts and are just 1-4 in his last five home outings.
