Angels vs. Mariners Prediction

Will the Angels and Mariners slug tonight in Seattle when the AL West rivals meet at 10:10PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Mariners are -116 money line favorites versus the Angels, who have odds of +106 to pull off the upset in Seattle tonight. With Ricky Nolasco set to face Marco Gonzales in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 8.5 runs.

From Rotoworld: Nolasco allowed five runs on nine hits over four innings while taking a no-decision in Sunday’s loss to the A’s. Nolasco struck out five and walked three on the afternoon. Three of the five runs on his line scored when Mark Canha burned him for a three-run homer in the fourth inning. The veteran right-hander will carry an unpalatable 5.09 ERA and 1.44 WHIP into a road showdown with the Mariners next time he takes to the mound.

Gonzales allowed five runs on seven hits over four-plus innings in Sunday’s win over the Royals. Gonzales was gifted with a 7-0 lead after just two innings, but failed to take advantage of that huge cushion. Whit Merrifield burned him for a two-run home run in the third inning and three more runs would score on his line after he trotted back out for the fifth inning. Gonzales struck out five and walked one in the ineffectual outing. Depending on when Felix Hernandez (biceps) is ready to return, Gonzales might not be needed for another start.

Bet Tonight’s Angels vs. Mariners Game

OUR PREDICTION: The over has cashed in seven of the last nine meetings between these two teams, is 15-5-1 in the last 21 meetings in Seattle, and has hit in four of the Mariners’ last five games overall. On the other side, the over is 3-0-1 in Nolasco’s last four starts overall, is 5-1 in the Angels’ last six games versus a left-handed starter, and is 5-2 in their last seven road games.
